Brough Sowerby
Brough Sowerby is now a village divided in two by the A685. On the west is the Black Bull pub. You will find quite a few Black Bull inns in our area; this comes from the old Scottish black cattle that were driven through Kirkby Stephen. On the eastern side there is a street of old and newer houses leading to Brough Sowerby common.
